39. Hate to elaborate like this, but I feel it is necessary. Competitions such as cheerleading and gymnastics, while they are difficult and require intense work and athleticism, depart from the realm of true competition because of the presence of judges to decide the outcome. Whereas in a sport such as, say, baseball, one team can clearly assert its superiority over the other by scoring more runs than the other team. However, who is to say that one performer in gymnastics or cheerleading is superior? It is a matter of opinion. Based solely on this fact... not a sport.
